A two-part system. No. 52 is the shooting board; No. 51 is the plane. Together, a reliable 90°.
Construction
The No. 52 is a flat cast-iron shooting board with a built-in fence for 90° and an adjustable mitre stop. The No. 51 chute plane rides in the rebate track of the board — low side, long sole for stability. The system keeps the plane perpendicular automatically.
Use
Squaring end grain precisely — joints for picture frames, cabinet panels, moulding. The mitre stop on the No. 52 allows 45° cuts. Significantly more accurate than a mitre box for fine joinery.
